TigerSpike are proud to have launched The Australian iPad application ahead of its rivals and in time for the iPad to hit stores nationwide on May 28, 2010.TigerSpike were responsible for the design & development of the first to market application and worked closely with News Digital Media to ensure the user experience remained simple, intuitive and of the world-class standard The Australian audience has come to expect. The Australian is only the second News Corporation newspaper in the world to launch an iPad app, behind the Wall Street Journal, and offers a vibrant, dynamic and portable reading experience to its audience.Designed to compliment existing media channels the app draws from the best elements of print and digital news and enables users to access the best news, analysis, politics, sport, business and entertainment in a timely fashion. With the ability to view content off line, where wi-fi is not available, news can be browsed by section and stories explored in-depth with recent supporting articles only a tap away. Navigation is easy and with a tap, drag, scroll or swipe users can browse better, read more, turn pages and enjoy a new interactive newspaper experience.Currently rating at 4+ in the App Store, this iPad app is just the beginning for The Australian with future features such as video, image galleries and much more coming soon... so watch this space!
